this wheel keeps working now

the past week has been one long blur of goodbyes. along the way there
was indeed a much needed hello again, but it, just like the others was
quickly followed by another goodbye. is that what life is becoming, a
series of increasingly more frequent goodbyes, the number of which
vastly outnumber the hello agains?

to pursue the dreams and the hopes and the beliefs written most
clearly upon my soul, will the resultant traveling and networking and
meeting and doing create for me a life filled with first hellos and
the subsequent goodbyes with the unlikely hello again?

aren't we made for community?

don't you long for the hello agains, to give you some sense of place
that has less to do with location than with the who?

and what if i want both, the vocation with which the goodbyes will
come, and the hello agains to which i'll come home?

so many questions

well-directed curiosity

i have this great internship. i, along with my partner, matt, take a group of 4th graders exploring every week. hopeful, positive engagement.

wednesday, the van was broken down, so we had to walk. we walked along a backroad, and came to a bridge with a creek passing underneath.

which obviously means you go straight in.

done.
